Greek police started a new operation on Wednesday noon to empty the Skaramangas building from squatters. The operation started at 3:15 p.m. in Patision/Skaramanga street, opposite the National Archaeological Museum and the Polytechnic School.
According to Greek media, some of hundreds of anti-authoritarians have set barricades on Stournari street.
The so-called “Skaramanga” building used to be the family house of famous soprano Maria Callas. It has been occupied by anti-authoritarians since quite some time.
The police operation at noon follows another in the morning at the squat Villa Amalia.
PS: No, I didn’t hear such a rumor, that the state would refurbish these neo-classic buildings to host the Athens homeless and families in need.
